Oudenaarde in een notendop, het ideale overzicht voor gasten die een beetje nieuwsgierig zijn naar de stad in het hart van de Vlaamse Ardennen.<\/p>

Oudenaarde bewoners ofOudenaardisten<\/i>‘<\/h2>

Beide termen worden gebruikt om de inwoners van Oudenaarde aan te duiden. De stad telt intussen ongeveer 31.000 inwoners, verdeeld over de 13 deelgemeenten. De stad wordt geleid door Open VLD-burgemeester Marnic De Meulemeester, die Oudenaarde sinds 2000 leidt. De stad ligt in Oost-Vlaanderen, op een half uur rijden van Gent en op een uur rijden van Brussel, Antwerpen en de kust.<\/p>

De geschiedenis van de stad gaat vele eeuwen terug: Margaretha van Parma, de Slag bij Oudenaarde in 1708, keizer Karel V, de wandtapijtindustrie en Hanske De Krijger.
