Golf & Country Club Oudenaarde is situated in the beautiful historic grounds of the 19th century castle “Kasteel van Petegem”. Contained within are two magnificent, 18-hole golf courses: Kasteel & Anker.
Kasteel (Castle)
From the moment you step on the course, you are greeted by a breath-taking view overlooking the castle pond. From the first hole, Captain’s Drive, to the brilliant final shot, Victory Lane, you’ll have such amazing views you’ll never forget your day here. The course Kasteel was recently renovated to include more parklands, strategic bunkers, and water hazards to make it a more challenging and interesting game overall. When you’ve finished, retire to the gorgeous bar for a refreshing drink, a bite to eat and to dissect your game with fellow players. Anker (Anchor)
The second course within the grounds of Kasteel van Petegem, Anker, begins with a friendly par-5 and finishes with a par three hole with stunning views over the lake, castle, and clubhouse. It’s a huge open space to practise or compete with teammates, enjoying the Flemish sunshine and the beautiful surroundings. The course has four practice holes, a chipping green, a putting green, and an impressive clubhouse to relax afterward. The clubhouse is contained within the original castle and is a great spot for dinner or a drink on the terrace on a sunny day.
Royal Latem Golf Club
The club was founded in 1909 on a private estate and was originally named Les Buttes Blanches after the flowers growing on the grounds. Royal Latem Golf Club is surrounded by private villas and homes and is a compact course suiting strategic golfers rather than long-hitters. The terrain is mostly flat aside from some sandy ridges along the edges and is excellently manicured and taken care of. It has hosted the Belgian Open three times in the fifties and is a high-class golf course, worthy of making your golf bucket list when you are in Oudenaarde.
Damme Golf & Country Club
Damme is a 27-hole parkland golf course with three loops of 9-holes each, ideal for practice or competition. The three loops offer a variety of obstacles and a varied game every time. The original 18-hole championship course layout is unforgiving, punishing mistakes and rewarding good shots quickly. It requires strategic thinking and forward planning with trees and water hazards at every turn. The course offers a good selection of game-types from the longer challenging 18-holes to the short sharp ‘Presidents Nine’. The grounds are extensive, and the clubhouse is a great place to enjoy a local bite after a challenging round.
